Der Vertreiber hat beim Abschluss des Kaufvertrags für das
neue Elektro- oder Elektronikgerät den Endnutzer über die
Möglichkeit zur unentgeltlichen Rückgabe bzw. Abholung
des Altgeräts zu informieren und den Endnutzer nach seiner
Absicht zu befragen, ob bei der Auslieferung des neuen Ge-
räts ein Altgerät zurückgegeben wird.
Dies gilt auch bei Vertrieb unter Verwendung von Fernkom-
munikationsmitteln, wenn die Lager- und Versandflächen für
Elektro- und Elektronikgeräte mindestens 400 m² betragen
oder die gesamten Lager- und Versandflächen mindestens
800 m² betragen, wobei die unentgeltliche Abholung auf
Elektro- und Elektronikgeräte der Kategorien 1 (Wärmeüber-
träger), 2 (Bildschirmgeräte) und 4 (Großgeräte mit mindes-
tens einer äußeren Abmessung über 50 cm) beschränkt ist.
Für alle übrigen Elektro- und Elektronikgeräte muss der Ver-
treiber geeignete Rückgabemöglichkeiten in zumutbarer Ent-
fernung zum jeweiligen Endnutzer gewährleisten; das gilt
auch für Altgeräte, die in keiner äußeren Abmessung größer
als 25 cm sind, die der Endnutzer zurückgeben will, ohne ein
neues Gerät zu kaufen.

All instructions must be read and observed
in order to enable work to be carried out
safely. The integrated safeguards may be
compromised if these instructions are not
observed. Never make warning signs unrecognisable.
STORE THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN A SAFE PLACE AND IN-
CLUDE THEM WITH THE PRODUCT WHEN GIVING IT TO A
THIRD PARTY.
Warning! If operating or adjustment devices other

than those specified here are used or other proced-
ures are carried out, this can lead to dangerous expos-
ure to radiation.
The measuring tool is delivered with a laser warning
u
sign (marked in the illustration of the measuring tool
on the graphics page).
If the text of the laser warning label is not in your na-
u
tional language, stick the provided warning label in
your national language over it before operating for the
first time.
Do not make any modifications to the laser equip-
u
ment.
Do not use the laser goggles (accessory) as protective
u
goggles. The laser goggles make the laser beam easier to
see; they do not protect you against laser radiation.

Do not use the laser goggles (accessory) as
u
sunglasses or while driving. The laser goggles do not
provide full UV protection and impair your ability to see
colours.
Have your product serviced only by a qualified spe-
u
cialist using only original replacement parts. This will
ensure that the safety of the product is maintained.
Do not let children use the laser measuring tool unsu-
u
pervised. They could unintentionally blind themselves or
other persons.
Do not operate in potentially explosive atmospheres,
u
such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or
dusts. Sparks may be produced, which can ignite dust or
fumes.
Additional Safety Instructions for GRL 250 HV :
Do not direct the laser beam at persons or
animals and do not stare into the direct or
reflected laser beam yourself. You could
blind somebody, cause accidents or damage
your eyes.
If laser radiation hits your eye, you must close your

eyes and immediately turn your head away from the
beam.
Additional Safety Instructions for GRL 300 HV,
GRL 300 HVG :
The laser exit holes on the measuring tool are marked
u
with warning labels. Take note of their position when
using the measuring tool.
If the text of these labels is not in your national lan-
u
guage, stick the provided warning label in your na-
tional language over it before operating for the first
time.
Comply with any applicable national regulations when
u
using a laser from laser class 3R. Failure to comply with
these regulations may cause injuries.
The measuring tool should only be operated by people
u
who have experience in using laser tools. According to
EN 60825-1, this includes knowledge of the biological
impact of the laser on eyes and skin as well as the correct
application of laser safety guidelines to prevent hazards.
Mark out the area where the measuring tool is being
u
used with suitable laser warning signs. This will pre-
vent people who are not using the measuring tool from
entering the danger zone.
Do not store the measuring tool in places which can be
u
accessed by unauthorised individuals. People who are
unfamiliar with the operation of the measuring tool may
cause harm to themselves or others.
Do not direct the laser beam at persons or
animals and do not stare into the laser beam
yourself. This measuring tool generates
laser class 3R laser radiation according to
EN 60825‑1. Looking into the laser beam dir-
ectly can cause eye injuries – even from far
away.
