CARE AND CLEANING
WARNING:
Always switch OFF (pressing the ON/OFF button), unplug, and
leave the appliance cool down, before cleaning the appliance. Always ensure that
all parts of the appliance are
out of reach of young children
Do not spill or pour any liquids on or in the housing or power cord. Do not place or
immerse the housing or power cord in any liquids to avoid damage, risk of fire, and
electric shock.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or aggressive liquids (e.g. bleach, solving
agents) for cleaning the appliance or any part of it, to avoid damage to the surfaces.
Do not use any hard or sharp-edged objects for cleaning (e.g. scoring pads, knives,
scrapers). Do not use violence.
DO NOT clean the housing or power cord in an automatic dishwasher!
Depending on the frequency of usage, the interior of the heating bowl gets coated
with grey or sand-coloured scale. To keep the appliance always ready for use, and
to avoid damage to the heating elements, you should de-calcify the heating bowl in
time (see: 'De-Calcifying the Heating Bowl').
CLEANING THE APPLIANCE
1. Always unplug the appliance, and leave the appliance cool down to room tem-
perature, before moving or cleaning the appliance.
2. Wipe the heating bowl using a soft damp cloth. If there are any residues of sca-
le that cannot be removed this way, the heating bowl must be de-calcified (see
below). Wipe the exterior of the housing and the power cord with a damp cloth.
3. Wash the egg tray and cover in warm dishwater. Alternatively, you may clean
these parts in an automatic dishwasher. Place the parts on the top rack and use
a low temperature program.
CAUTION:
There is a sharp needle for piercing the eggs in the bottom of the
measuring cup. Handle the measuring cup with care to avoid injuries.
4. Wipe dry all parts (including the measuring cup) to avoid stains of scale. Then,
leave the parts dry naturally for approx. 30 minutes, where they are
of young children.
DE-CALCIFYING THE HEATING BOWL
Always a little scale of the eggshells will be dissolved during cooking. Thus, inde-
pendently of the hardness of your drinking water, white or sand-coloured scale will
be built within the heating bowl. Thus, to keep the performance of the appliance, it
may be necessary to remove excessive scale.

IMPORTANT:
For de-calcifying only use white vinegar. Do not use any de-calcifying
solution not recommended in this booklet, to avoid damage to the surfaces.
1. Fill the heating bowl with 80 millilitres of vinegar (upper grading line of the
measuring cup). Leave the appliance stand for at least 1 hour with the cover clo-
sed.
2. Empty the heating bowl and wipe the interior of the heating bowl with a soft
damp cloth. Check, whether the scale is removed completely.
3. Repeat the procedure, if there is still any scale.
4. Check, whether there is any smell of vinegar left in the heating bowl. If so, wipe
again with clear tap water. Avoid dripping any water onto the exterior of the
housing.
