• In various foreign countries, the specifications for power supplies are
subject to incompatible norms. Therefore it is possible that power sup-
plies in foreign countries do not meet the requirements for safe opera-
tion of the appliance. Thus, before operating the appliance abroad,
ensure that safe operation is possible.
• Do not use any desk top multi socket outlet, external timer, remote
control systems or extension cord. The power outlet must always be
easily accessible so that it would be possible to unplug the appliance
immediately in case of any malfunction or danger.
• Always handle power cords with care. The power cord may never
touch hot surfaces, sharp edges, or any moving parts. Do not let the
plug or power cord hang over the edge of the table or counter. Ensu-
re that no one will pull the appliance by the power cord. Power cords
may never be knotted, twisted, pulled, strained or squeezed. Always
grasp the plug to disconnect the power cord. Do not touch the appli-
ance or power plug with wet hands with the appliance connected
to the power supply.
• Do not place or immerse the housing or power cord in water or any other
liquid. DO NOT spill or drip any liquids on the housing or the power cord
to avoid risk of fire and electric shock. When parts of the appliance are
leaking during operation and/or liquids accumulate under the housing or
run down on the exterior of the housing, immediately unplug the appli-
ance. Refer to the instructions in chapter 'Solving Problems'.

ting elements for heating up drinking water to the boil and cooking eggs.
Thus, the appliance could cause severe scalds, burns and damage, when
used improperly.
• The heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use.

• Do not move or tilt the appliance during operation. The appliance and
the contents will be hot even for some time after operation. Always
leave the appliance cool down to room temperature, before moving,
cleaning or storing the appliance.
• Even with the cover properly closed, hot steam will escape during ope-
ration via the steam vents. Do not hold your face or other parts of your
body over or directly near the appliance during operation and while the
appliance is still hot to avoid scalds due to steam. Especially, beware of
hot steam and condensate, when removing the cover and the egg tray.
• Even the exterior of the top parts of the appliance may be very hot
during operation and some time thereafter. Only touch the the egg tray
and cover at the handles, when the appliance is hot. Do not place
the egg tray and/or cover on any heat- or moisture-sensitive objects,
while these parts are still hot. Always keep the cover closed during
operation, to avoid scalding and enable correct operation.
