appliance by any other source of heat. Only fill clear drinking water into the heating

or misuse may cause severe injuries and damage.
when the appliance is not in use.
If water runs out during operation, immediately unplug the appliance (see: 'Solving
Problems'). Regularly de-calcify the heating bowl (see: 'Care and Cleaning'). Do not
use violence or any hard or sharp-edged objects.
Ensure to place the appliance on a level, flat, stable, and dry surface. For operation,
do not place the appliance near the edge of the working space or on inclined sur-
faces. Do not operate the appliance in a tray or tub or on a metal surface to avoid
high risk of electric shock, when overflow or splashing of hot water occurs. Before
operation, always fill a sufficient amount of clear drinking water into the heating bowl
(20-80 millilitres, lowest to highest grading lines on the measuring cup). If the heating
bowl is overfilled, boiling water may run out.
1. Place the appliance on a suitable table or counter near an appropriate wall

ding lines for soft, medium, and hard as well as 1, 2, or 3 eggs. Fill the measu-
ring cup with tap water up to the required filling level, depending on the number
of eggs you wish to cook and the desired consistency.
3. Fill the water into the heating bowl. Place the egg tray onto the heating bowl.
4. Pierce the air chamber within the eggs (at one end). For this, it is best to use the
egg piercer at the bottom of the measuring cup.
Note:
There is an air chamber in the eggs that can be found easily at the somewhat
thicker end of the egg. In customary packaging, the eggs are placed with this side
up. It is essential to pierce the air chamber to avoid that the egg white will flow
out during cooking, building a lot of froth within the egg boiler. Without piercing
the eggshells at all, the air within the egg could burst the eggshell during cooking.
5. Place the eggs into the egg tray with the pierced side up and close the appliance
via the cover. Then put the power plug into the wall power outlet.
IMPORTANT:
Always close the appliance by the cover before switching on the
appliance.
The appliance will not work properly without the cover.

steam will escape at the steam vents. Do not hold your hands, arms, or face or any
delicate object over the steam vents to avoid scalds and damage. Do not move the
appliance during operation to avoid spilling of hot water. Beware of hot steam and
hot surfaces, when removing the cover and egg tray. Only touch the cover and egg
tray by the handles. When removing the cover, egg tray, and eggs, be aware that
hot steam and condensate will escape and drip.
6. Hold the housing of the appliance at the bottom and press the ON/OFF button.
The button will be illuminated in red with an acoustic signal and the heating ele-
