f Observe the blast pattern on the floor. If the blast pattern is uneven, change the position
of the shot cage (as described in Chapter 3 Adjustment and maintenance.
f Continue the blasting process. When changing the direction of travel, the machine must
first come to a standstill before switching the drive direction (forwards / reverse switch)
from the 0 position to the opposite position.
Danger!
Sudden switching of the direction of travel switch ( Forwards/ Reverse switch) can
destroy the feed motor or the control. First bring the machine to a standstill, then
switch over! The dust container of the extraction system must be emptied if neces-
sary. The emptying intervals depend on the capacity of the container and the natu-
re of the floor.
Belt Drive
The belt drive is designed for at least 500 operating hours. However, this only applies if
the belt is properly tensioned. To check the belt, remove the belt cover (see picture of belt
drive motor and belt cover, No.177). The belt (No. 97) should not be able to slide more than
half a centimeter in either direction halfway between the pulleys. If the belt is too loose, it
must be retightened. Loosen the four screws with which the turbine motor (No. 92) is flan-
ge-mounted. The threaded rod of the belt tensioner (No. 90) with nut is located on the top
of the motor flange. Turn the nut clockwise until the belt has the correct tension. Tighten
the flange screws again. Tighten the nut of the belt tensioner.

Adjustment and maintenance

Before starting any work on the machine, disconnect the electricity from the mains
and pull out the plug.
Adjusting the blast pattern
The blast pattern is set by turning the shot cage (see picture below, Adjustment of the
blasting pattern / shot flow, No. 127) in the center of the blast wheel cover (No. 125). An
uneven blast pattern means that more shot is emitted on one side of the blast path than on
the opposite. The result is an unlevel surface.
f Remove the shot hose between the shot valve and the shot enter pipe (No. 129) which
is clamped onto the blast wheel cover by means of two clamps (No. 131).
f Loosen the clamps by turning the two nuts. The shot cage is located under the inlet
flange. On removing the shot enter pipe the shot cage turns freely.
f Above the centre of the cage window is a marking point (pin) which is helpful for orien-
tation.
f If the path has been blasted heavier on the left hand side compared to the right, turn
the cage anti – clockwise. Turn in a clockwise direction if the path is heavier on the right
hand side.
f Reconnect the shot enter pipe with the clamps, connect the shot hose and try a short
test run.
f Repeat the adjustment if necessary until the path is smooth, even and without variation.
Adjusting the height of the shotblaster
There are three adjustable screws for changing the height of the shotblaster. By changing
the height, the gap between the magnetic frame and the floor is adjusted. Basically, the
smaller the distance, the better (less wear & tear and loss of abrasive). A rough, uneven
floor, however, requires a greater distance from the machine than a smooth one.
