General Safety Precautions
Safety rules for the operation of the mobile shotblaster
Warning!
It is in your interest that all persons who operate this machine have read the follo-
wing pages carefully and take note of their contents. Familiarize yourself and the
operating personnel with all components of the machine and their functions. If you
follow the instructions, you will not find it difficult to use and operate the Shotblas-
ter efficiently.
Information
The mobile shotblaster system has been developed according to existing safety rules and
regulations. The technical safety precautions must not be removed or changed under any
circumstances. When operating this machine, the following points should also be obser-
ved:
• Before any work, however minimal, is carried out on the machine, the power must be disconnec-
ted. Never pull out the main plug while the machine is running.
• The Shotblaster machine operates using many mechanical components. There is therefore a risk
of injury not only from an electric shock, but also from rotating parts.
• The use of protective equipment such as goggles with side protection and ear protectors is re-
quired. All persons present in the working area of the machine must wear the required protective
equipment.
• When the shotblaster is started for the first time and when the machine is lifted / tilted during
blasting, it is possible that some of the Shot (the tiny metal balls) emerge from the blasting open-
ing at high speed. In this case there is a high risk of injury to unprotected eyes.
• Wear clothing that fits snugly around your body. Flapping clothing can get into the machine and-
be pulled into it causing severe injury and even loss of limb.
• All rotating parts of the machine are provided with covers to prevent body, clothing or other for-
eign parts from getting inside.
• Leave all covers in place before activating the machine.
• Access by unauthorized persons to the work area of the machine must be prevented. (High risk of
slipping on left-over blasting Shot)
• If unusual running noises or increased vibrations are registered during operation of the machine, it
must be switched off immediately and the cause of the unusual behavior investigated.
• The surface to be blasted must be checked for rough unevenness, stones, pieces of metal and
other such foreign bodies before treatment. If necessary, the surface must be swept or vacu-
umed.
• Wet or oily areas can make the blasting process impossible and damage the extraction system.
• Regular checks of the incoming power cables are necessary, as they could have suffered mecha-
nical damage during the operation of the system. (Pull out the mains plug beforehand) !
• Handle all live electric parts with the greatest care.
• Only tools supplied or approved by CONTEC / TYROLIT may be used.
• The machine operator must not leave the machine unattended at any time during operation. Be-
fore leaving the shotblaster, the machine operator must shut down the motor and secure the de-
vice against unintentional movements. In addition, the power must be disconnected.
