PHASE
switch
Specifies the cassette tape protocol for SAVE, LOAD, and VERIFY
operations. This switch usually should be kept at the NOR setting, and
changed to the REV setting when proper operation is not possible
at NOR.
MODE
switch
Specifies the printsizewhenprintinggraphics.Characterprintoutis
performed in accordance with the number of columns available on
the printer being used no matter what the setting of this switch.
This switch setting is only valid for dot graphic printers.
• 80 CHR
Specifies the 80-column mode in which graphics are printed at twice
the size of those produces in the NOR setting (see below).
• NOR
Specifies the 40-column mode in which graphics are printed at nor-
mal
size.
Cassette tape recorder

Used for connection of mini plugs for linking with a cassette tape
recorder.
EAR connector:
For connection
MONITOR

MIC connector:
For connection with tape recorder's MIC or LINE
IN connector.
REM connector:
For connection with tape recorder's REMOTE con-
nector.

Used for connection of a printer cable for linking with a Centronics

The2-way power s upply ofthisunitallows itto bepowered byeither
AC or DC powersources.Weakeningbatteries are indicatedwhen
the power lamp becomes dim. At this time, batteries should be
replaced immediately,or the AC adaptor should be used for further
operation.
DC power supply
DC power is supplied by five AA-size batteries.
Battery replacement

partment cover on the back of the interface
unit.
@ Remove thefiveoldbatteries andreplace
them with newoneswhileconfirmingthat
the polarity (9 / 9) of each battery is
correct
* Reversing thepolarity ofa battery maycause
it to burst.
@ Replace t hebattery c ompartment
* Weakened batteries can causefailureof the remotefunctionsand
improper operation.
* Alwaysreplaceallfiveold batteries witha fullsetoffive newbatteries.
* Neverdispose of oldbatteries by incinerating t hem.Doingsocan
cause the batteries to explode.
