Safety Information
Battery chargers
Use only SRC/ SRU Atlas Copco battery charger
(see optional accessories). Please see separate in-
structions delivered with the charger.
Battery Packs
Fully charge new or long time unused battery
packs before using your battery machine. Full
loading capacity of battery pack is reached af-
ter 4 – 5 chargings.
The contact points of chargers and battery packs
must be kept clean.
If the machine will not be used for 100 hours or
longer: separate the battery from the machine. Oth-
erwise the electronics will discharge the battery.
Battery Pack Reception
Put the battery pack in the battery machine so that
the clamps are secured. The battery can be placed
in two alternative positions, pointing forward or
backward, for best accessibility and balance. Re-
moval of Battery Pack: Press down the button,
then take out the battery pack of the battery ma-
chine.
Since a battery discharge itself slowly, it should re-
main in the charging unit which provides a trickle
charge.
Signal lights
The green LED indicates an OK tightening, i. e.
the machine has been shut off by the clutch. When
the battery energy is not sufficient for any more
correct tightening, the motor will be shut off and
the red LED will blink at a high frequency.
Theft protection (only – PROT
version)
The theft protection system disables the machine
from unauthorized use.
After connecting the battery to the machine : the
IR-sensor, situated between the green and red
LEDs, has to be moved over the 'eye' of the de-
coder until an acoustic signal indicates that the ma-
chine is unlocked. Install the decoder theft-proof.

Maintenance
Service instructions
Overhaul and preventive maintenance is recom-
mended at regular intervals once per year or after
maximum 250.000 tightening depending on which
occurs sooner. More frequent overhaul may be
needed if used at high torque and long tightening
times. If the machine is not working properly, it
should immediately be taken away for inspection.
At the overhauls, all parts should be cleaned accu-
rately and defective or worn parts (i.e. O-rings)
should be replaced.
Disassembling/Assembling
It is important that the machines threaded connec-
tions are tightened properly; i.e. in accordance
with the specifications on the exploded views.
Cleaning/Inspection
Clean all parts thoroughly in white spirit or similar
cleaning agent. After the cleaning, inspect all parts.
Damaged and worn parts should be replaced.
Lubrication
Lubricate specially gears and clutch with grease
containing molybdenum disulphide (e.g. Molykote
BR2 Plus). Please see exploded views. Lubricate
o-rings and threaded connections with grease be-
fore assembling.
Service kits
The parts included in the service kits cover a nor-
mal overhaul of your machine. Always have them
available in your workshop for a fast and economi-
cal repair. For further information concerning all
available Service kits to our machines, please read
"Service kit Guide" Ordering No. 9833 1133 55.
