Operating and mounting instructions
Document protection Safe Paper Star Plus 4-5
After having successfully set the new numerical code and made sure – with the door open – that the code works, you
must close the door panel again. Proceed as follows here:
a.
Open the combination lock with the new combination code.
b.
Turn the door handle to the "middle position" (middle position between open and closed, approx. 45° handle
position).
c.
Press the door panel against the door (only possible with door handle in centre position) and tighten the
fastening screws.
d.
Before closing the safe door, please check again with the door open that the new numerical code works properly.
Safes with an electronic combination lock:
This combination lock comes with its own operating instructions.
IMPORTANT: Please change the pre-set factory code and replace it with a code of your choice.
2.2 Closing the door
Safes with a double-bit security lock: (Standard version with door hinge on the right)
Close the door firmly, turn the door handle fully anticlockwise and turn the key anticlockwise too. Then pull the key out of
the door.
IMPORTANT! Make sure that the door is properly locked.
NOTE: Your safe is equipped with a certified double-bit security lock with "forced closure".
The key can only be removed when the lock is locked.
2.3
Key loss:
(only with key lock version)
You will receive 2 double-bit keys as standard. If one or more keys are lost, the lock must be replaced for security
reasons, otherwise the insurance cover will be invalidated. If you need an additional key, please use the "Key Order
Form" enclosed.
For security reasons, replacement keys can generally only be provided on presentation of an original key.
Keep your keys in a safe place: the safe will have to be forced open if you lose them, which will entail significant costs for
you.
2.4 Adjusting the shelves
The safe is equipped with height-adjustable shelves. Each shelf rests on four shelf supports, which are hooked into the
notches on the side wall of the safe. To adjust a shelf, it must be removed from the safe, and the four shelf supports can
then be hooked into the notch required.
NOTE:
The short section of the shelf support must be inserted pointing upwards into the side wall notch; the
shelf then rests on the long section of the shelf support.
3.
Anchoring and installation
3.1
General
If you want to insure the contents (material assets) of your safe, proper anchoring of your safe with a dead weight of less
than 1000 kg is a minimum requirement according to the European standard DIN EN 1143-1. Consult your insurance
company about the general requirements for the installation location and anchoring.
The safe provides optimal protection only if it is attached to a solid part of the building.
As standard, your safe is provided with a Ø15mm anchoring hole in the floor. Please only use the anchoring hole in
the safe floor provided to establish the necessary stationary connection. The following fixing material is supplied with
the safe as standard:
1 piece heavy-duty anchor FBN II 12/100 incl. nut M12 and washer for push-through mounting
This heavy-duty anchor FBN II 12/100 is suitable for anchoring directly into high-strength substrates (at least
concrete of grade C12/15 or a natural stone with a dense structure). A non-bearing floor structure above this (e.g.
screed, insulation layer, tiles or similar) is not permitted.
