Operating and mounting instructions
Document protection Safe Paper Star Plus 4-5
In buying this safe, you have chosen a quality product with proven security. These instructions describe how to operate
and install your safe.
Please read these instructions carefully before using your safe and keep them in a secure place outside the
safe!
Scope of the instructions:
Document protection Safe from the Paper Star Plus 4-5 series.
Resistance level of security grade 1 according to EN 1143-1 and fire protection of grade S120P according to EN 1047-1.
The two type plates for burglary protection and fire protection, indicating the model designation, the recognition number
and the resistance level, are located in the upper area on the inner door panel. Please provide this information if you
have any queries. Make a note of the information on the type plate and enclose it with the instructions.
The recommended insurance cover depends on the resistance grade of your safe. If you wish to insure the contents of
your safe, please clarify the exact cover/conditions with your insurance company.

Manufacturer's instructions for safe operation:
•
Before using for the first time (opening the safe door), please make sure that the safe is correctly set up. The
safe must also be secured to prevent tilting.
•
When closing the safe door, make absolutely sure that there are no body parts between the safe door and the
safe body. Otherwise there is a risk of crushing of trapped limbs.
•
Before closing the safe door, make sure that the locking bolts in the safe door are retracted. Extended locking
bolts will hit the safe body when the door is closed, damaging the locking mechanism and causing a malfunction.
•
Tamper protection: To prevent unnoticed tampering inside the door, the door panel is equipped with a seal.
•
For the key lock version, keep the keys in a secure place, but not in the
safe!
•
For the design with a combination lock, write down the numerical code and keep it in a secure place,
but not in the safe!

There is a danger of suffocation from packaging and protective films. Keep packaging and protective films away from
children.
2.
Operation
2.1 Opening the door
Safes with a double-bit security lock: (Standard version with door hinge on the right)
Insert the key and turn it clockwise as far as it will go, then turn the door handle fully clockwise and pull the door open.
Please note that double-bit keys have two different sides (bits). When inserting the key into the keyhole,
the longer side must be facing the door handle.
Safes with a mechanical combination lock:
This combination lock comes with its own operating instructions.
IMPORTANT: Please change the pre-set factory code and replace it with a code of your choice.
To access the combination lock and change the factory code, you must open the inner door panel downwards.
Proceed as follows:
a.
Open the combination lock with the old number code, and then open the safe door with the door handle.
b.
Loosen the fastening screws on the inside of the door panel.
c.
Turn the door handle to the "middle position" (middle position between open and closed, approx. 45° handle
position).
d.
Carefully pull the top door panel forward (only possible with door handle in centre position) until the bottom door
panel is held by the catch cable. The bolt mechanism compartment of the door is now visible, the mechanical
combination lock sits horizontally in the bolt mechanism and can now be reached from the side.
Now turn the door handle with the door open so that the bolt pins move out completely (the boltwork is then
extended) and then lock the combination lock (extend the lock bolt).
Now set your new personal numerical code according to the user instructions for the combination lock.
