► Make sure that the following components are
in safe condition:
– Lawn mower,
– Blade,

► Check batteries,
► Fully charge batteries,
► Clean the lawn mower,
► check the blades,
► Attach the handlebar,
► Fold up the handlebar,
► Adjust the handlebar,
► If mowing and the grass is to be collected in
the grass catcher box:
► Detach the extension,
► Remove the mulch insert,
► attach the grass catcher box,
► If mowing and the grass is to be directed to
the ground from the side:
► Detach the grass catcher box,
► Insert the mulch insert,
► Attach the extension,
► If mulching:
► Detach the extension,
► Detach the grass catcher box,
► Insert the mulch insert,
► Set the cutting height,
► check the controls,
► Insert batteries,
► If the steps cannot be performed: do not use
the lawn mower and consult a STIHL special‐
ist dealer.

Connecting the lawn mower
through a Bluetooth
interface to the STIHL connec‐
ted app.
► Activate the Bluetooth
the mobile device.
► Activate the Bluetooth® wireless interface on
the control unit
.
► Download the STIHL connected app from the
App Store to your mobile device and create an
account.
► Open the STIHL connected app and log in.
► Add a lawn mower to the STIHL connected
app and follow the instructions on the screen.

6.1
Charging the battery
The charging time depends on various factors,
e.g. the battery temperature or the ambient tem‐
perature. For optimal performance, observe the
recommended temperature ranges,
actual charging time may vary from the charging
time indicated. The charging time is indicated at
www.stihl.com/charging-times.
► Recharge the battery as described in the User
Manual for the STIHL AL 101, 301, 301-4,
500, 501 chargers.
6.2
Displaying the Charge State
► Press button (1).
The LEDs illuminate green for approx. 5 sec‐
onds to indicate the charge state.
► If the right LED flashes green: charge the bat‐
tery.
