Record
Mode
Load tape onto the machine. Press the centre-track timecode "SAFE/READY" button, the record LED will
start to flash and, if timecode is present at the input XLR, the "GOOD CODE" LED will illuminate. To
actually record timecode or drop-in then press:
PLAY and RECORD simultaneously.
To drop out of record then press any of the following key combinations:
Just press PLAY (machine will continue in play mode).
or
STOP
If any of the audio channels have been selected as "RECORD READY', then they will follow the timecode
mode.
When the machine is set to timecode "RECORD READY" , then the time code appearing at the output XLR
is the same as the code at the timecode input XLR.
4. Tips and Hints
When copying centre-track timecode tapes always regenerate the time code by feeding it, say, through
a synchroniser. (It is not advisable to direct "Audio Dub" timecode).
Always clean and demagnetise
Most dubbing houses pre-stripe their tapes before recording the audio tracks. This means that they have
a continuous

5. Trouble shooting
