3.2 Application as scoop stretcher

There are various application techniques for the scoop stretcher. You can
place the halves under the patient from the sides or only open the scoop
stretcher at the bottom end, which then forms an "V". Carefully position the
top end under the patient's head and close the bottom end (with a so-called
"scooping" motion).
The type of application must be individually determined, depending on the
nature of the injury.
2. If the patient's legs protrude beyond the edge of the ultraCOMBI-STRETCHER, check to see
whether the patient's legs require additional immobilisation. If the injured person is shorter
than 1.20 m, we recommend using the straps SAN-0281 or SAN-0286.
3. Once the parts have been locked (clearly audible clicking sound during the locking pro-
cess), ensure that both snap locks of the ultraCOMBI-STRETCHER are locked and only then
secure the patient with the straps.
4. Secure all 3 patient safety straps as shown in Figure
lock into place. For safety reasons, subject the latches to a test by pulling at the appropriate
point. Ensure that the injured party's breathing is not encumbered by the traction of the
straps.
5. Check all buckles and straps before lifting and transporting the patient.
3.3 Application as spine board
1. Before using the ultraCOMBI-STRETCHER as a spine board, ensure that both snap buckles
are locked.
2. Similar to a spine board, the ultraCOMBI-STRETCHER is applied depending on the injury
and local conditions.
3. If the patient's legs protrude beyond the edge of the ultraCOMBI-STRETCHER, check to see
whether the patient's legs require additional immobilisation. If the injured person is shorter
than 1.20 m, we recommend using the straps SAN-0281 or SAN-0286.
4. Secure all 3 patient safety straps as shown in Figure
1. To position the ultraCOMBI-STRETCHER underneath the patient
without having to move him, open one of the metal fasteners. Un-
lock the snap buckle by activating the lock mechanism. (Figure 1)
