2. Connect the microphone plugs to the jacks of audio equipment.
Be careful not to connect with the L and R channels reversed.
3. Select MUSIC or VOCAL with the signal-off/tone switch re-
ferring to the following description.
o
MUSIC
The microphone has a fiat frequency response in this setting,
so it is suitable for picking up voices of several persons or
sounds of instruments 50cm (20") or more away from the
microphone.
o
VOCAL
This attenuates the low frequency range by about 6dB at
1 00Hz.
This setting is particularly sui table when using the
microphone just in front of the mouth. When the microphone
is held near the mouth, low frequencies are generally emphasized
and the
microphone will pick up harsh breathing noises.
This can be prevented and natural sounds can be picked up
by setting the switch to VOCAL.
4. Input attenuator switch (PAD)
Remove the grip by turning it counterclockwise, and the input
attenuator switch is accessible.
lt
should usually
be set at "0". Switch it to "-10" when
picking up loud sounds such as drums to prevent distortion.
The microphone sensitivity will be reduced by 10dB in this setting.
