1. SAFETY WARNINGS
1.1. Explanation of the symbols:
 Read the operator's manual.
 Do not open the hose box yourself. Repairs may only be
carried out by GARDENA Service.
1.2. General safety warnings:
 Read the instructions for use carefully and keep for future reference.
 Do not use the product in explosive atmospheres.
 Only use the product between 0°C and 40°C.
 Do not use the hose box and bracket (metal sleeve D) to hang objects such as
hammocks.
 Do not use the product if you are under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medi-
cation.
1.3. Intended use:
The GARDENA Terrace Hose Box is designed for irrigating plants, lawns and
areas of grass in private domestic and non-professional gardens. It must not
be used in public facilities, parks, sports facilities, on roads or in agriculture and
forestry.The hose box is only suitable for outdoor use. The hose box is not suita-
ble for use with food. The water from the hose box is not suitable for drinking.
The bracket (metal sleeve D) is only suitable for use with the hose box.
2. ASSEMBLY
DANGER!
Risk of suffocation.
There is a choking hazard for small children due to the polybag.
 Keep small children away when you assemble the product.
2.1. Selecting the mounting location [Fig. 5]:
 Choose a location from which water from a possibly defective hose
cannot enter your house.
 Select a mounting location that is protected from direct sunlight.
 Choose a solid floor made of wood or concrete.
 Make sure that there are no loose stones or sand under the floor.
 Use a water level to check that the floor is level and not sloping.
 Do not mount the product on a raised base.
 If necessary, obtain mounting material independently.
 If you have any questions on mounting, please contact GARDENA
Service.
2.2. Installing the half shells [Fig. 1]:
1. Insert the 3 screws H into the half shell
2. Install the two half shells
3. Tighten the 3 screws H.

2.3. Installing the universal mount [Fig. 2, 3, 4]:
DANGER!
Risk of electric shock caused by electric wires under-
ground.
 Make sure that there are no electrical cables in the ground.
WARNING!
Damage when using incorrect screws and dowels.
The use of incorrect screws and dowels may cause the product to fall
over.
 Use the supplied screws and dowels for concrete and wooden
floors only.
 For another floor, use appropriate screws and dowels.
 Do not mount the hose box overhead or on the wall.
 If you have any questions, please contact GARDENA Service.
1. Place the universal mount F on the floor with the screw holes facing
down.
2. Mark the drill holes through the screw holes with a pin.
 For concrete floors, use drill bit of 8 mm in diameter: Drill the 4
drill holes and insert the supplied dowels I.
 For wooden floors: Pre-drill the 4 screw holes using a suitable drill bit.
3. Tighten the universal mounting F using the 4 screws J and the washers
K.
2.4. Mounting the hose box [Fig. 6, 7]:
1. Check whether you can lift the hose box on your own. Seek support if
necessary.
2. Insert the metal sleeve D into the universal mounting F with the screw
holes facing down.
3. Tighten the metal sleeve D using the 2 screws G.
4. Grip the hose box A with both hands on the outside to prevent limbs
from becoming trapped.
5. Insert the hose box A onto the metal sleeve D.
6. Screw an appropriate tap connector N onto your tap.
7. Insert the ends of the connection hose L onto the tap connector N and
the coupler on the hose box A.
8. Insert the nozzle M onto the hose of the hose box A.
 When you remove the hose box A, place the cover E on the metal slee-
ve D to protect it.
3. OPERATION
CAUTION!
Risk of scalding due to heated water from the hose.
The water in the hose may heat up in strong sunlight.
 Carefully check the temperature of the water.
 Do not spray people with the water.
3.1. Preparation:
 Operate the product at temperatures over 0°C only.
 Use a damp cloth or gloves to grip the hose in strong sunlight.
 Check the product for damage.
 Do not use a defective product.
 Keep children away from the product.
 Instruct people on how to operate the product.
3.2. Pulling the hose in and out:
CAUTION!
Risk of pulling in and crushing due to high spring force.
 Keep fingers, hair, clothing and objects away from the hose and
feed compartment.
 Keep children away from the product.
