Operation
Mower Drive Switch (Fig. B3)
This switching is for turning the mower drive on and off. To actuate the mower drive, this switch has to be set to the ON position.
Basket Full Warning Signal
Your Trac has a warning system to avoid clogging of the tunnel. When the basket is full, a warning signal sounds. Turn the mower
off and empty the basket.
Seat Adjustment (Fig. B4)
Adjust the seat like this:
1. Loosen the fastening bolt under the seat mounting plate.
2. Move the seat forward or backwards into the desired position.
3. Tighten the bolt.
Start Engine
Danger
Never leave the engine running in a closed room or a room without sufficient ventilation – DANGER OF POISONING!
Start the engine like this:
1. Open the petrol shutoff. The handle should point downward in accordance with (Fig. B5).
2. Assume a comfortable sitting position. The safety switch has contact.
3. Push the brake pedal all the down and hold it pressed down. (Fig. B6).
1 - Forward, 2 - Reverse (Fig. B7)
4. Put the throttle lever onto the position "choke" (Fig. B8).
5. Set the Mower Drive switch to OFF (Fig. B3).
6. Turn the ignition key toward START (Fig. B9), and let go of the key as soon as the engine starts. Do not carry out starting
without interruption for any longer than 15 seconds (per minute), as otherwise the starter will overheat. In such case, let the
starter cool down for two minutes.
7. When the motor has started put the throttle lever onto the position "rabbit" (Fig. B8).
Danger
Before you start the engine, be sure that the brake pedal is pushed down, that the mower drive switch is in the OFF-position and
that the grass-catcher is attached.
Danger
Do not let the engine run in closed rooms or rooms with poor ventilation. Exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide! Keep your
hands, feet and clothing away from the engine.
Important
Set the gas lever to idle before turning the engine off. This will prevent misfires and is easy on the engine.
Warning
Set the blades into the highest position when you leave the lawn. The blades might otherwise get damaged during the transport
trip.
Driving the Trac
The Trac has hydrostatic gearing. This means that its speed can be controlled in forward and reverse travel by means of the pedals
(Fig. B7). The further the pedals are pushed down, the faster the Trac will go.
Note
If the Trac is to be pushed, the clutch lever on the rear has to be pulled out (Page 2 Item 7). After the procedure, the lever has to
be pushed
Brakes (Fig. B6)
The brake takes effect when the foot pedal is pushed all the down. Then you should put the gas lever in the idle position (Fig.
B8).
You can set the brake with the notch lever (Fig. B6, Item 2).
Reverse Travel (Fig. B7)
Caution
Bring the machine to a standstill before you switch from forward to reverse travel. For reverse travel, push down the gas pedal
slowly. (Fig.B7, Item 2).
Warning
When travelling in reverse, always look to the rear! The blades have to be switched off!
Lawn Mowing
Important
First clear the area to be mown of any objects lying around, such as toys, wires, branches, rocks, etc. Do not wear loose-fitting
clothing, as it could get caught in the moving parts. Always wear sturdy shoes. Keep children and animals away while mowing.
Keep your hands and feed away from the blades. Never let anyone ride along with you. Be sure that the switch for the blades
is in the OFF-position before you start the engine (Fig. B3).
Condition of the Mower Blades
Check the condition of the blades frequently. Dull blades produce mowing with a poor visual effect. The blades then have to be
sharpened or replaced.
