Please refer to our installation video for the following operating instructions.
Removing the XLR cables from their park position
The optional RCA connection also in-
cludes the two XLR female connection
cables, which can be plugged into the
Flow 8 main out if required. To do this,
first remove the two cables from their
parking positions (Fig. 14), by pressing
them out of their intended molded
nest in sheet metal. Remove the two
XLR plugs from their housing and care-
fully pull up as much cable as is neces-
sary to plug them in. Plug the XLR con-
nectors into the main out of the Flow 8
(Fig. 15).
Note: Do not pull the plug on the cables,
otherwise there is a risk of damaging the electrical connection.
Note: Never pull on the cables with force, as this could damage the cables and the downstream
electronics. If the cables are difficult to remove from their seat, please check whether they are
twisted together. Sort them so that there is no twisting that causes additional friction.
Unplugging and inserting the plugs into their parking position
When unplugging the XLR connectors, hold the mixing console firmly with one hand to
prevent the necessary pull-out forces from being applied to the Flow 8 cover plate. Due to
the sometimes tight connections between the plug and socket, more force may be re-
quired when unplugging.
Note: When disconnecting the XLR plugs (af-
ter unlocking), never pull on the cable, but al-
ways on the plug. There is a risk of damaging
the electrical connection.
After unplugging, put the two XLR plugs
back into their parking positions. Then
push the two connection cables one by
one into the recesses under the cover
plate. As soon as they are in their posi-
tion in as flat a radius as possible (with-
out kinks and without tension), fix them
in place by pushing them into the two
molded nests provided (Fig. 14) &
(Fig. 16).

Note: When closing the cover, check that
the two cables can be accommodated in
the cover without kinking or pinching. If
the back pressure is too great when clo-
sing, bring the two cables a little deeper
under the base plate as described above
and repeat the process until the cover can
be closed without forcing.
USB charging port (option)
The optional USB charging port can be used to supply external USB accessories with
charging current (Fig. 17). The available charging current depends on whether the USB-
C or Lightning ports in the device are used in parallel. The maximum charging current
for all connected devices is 2.0 A.
To ensure that a device receives the charging current it needs for optimum charging,
the corresponding parameters are first exchanged between the device and the charg-
ing controller after the cables have
been connected. If the device is purely
passive, i.e. a consumer that cannot
send any parameters, the charge con-
troller throttles the current to the USB
1.0 standard of 100 mA. As a result, vari-
ous devices cannot be charged at the
USB charging socket or can only be
charged very slowly. This can also affect
USB hubs, which register with the
charge controller with their own (some-
times lower) charging parameters.
As even USB connection cables can have chips in the meantime, the following recom-
mendations apply for optimum charging on the BSS case for the Flow 8:
• - Only connect devices directly (do not use USB hubs)
• - Only use original cables from the manufacturer
• - Do not connect any passive devices (illuminated mini Christmas trees etc.)
