5. Transport and start up

5.1 Transport and installation

The machine is designed to operate in
closed rooms and must be bolted
stable on a firm and levelled table
surface.
Mounting mortiser to workbench:
It is highly recommended to secure
the mortiser to the workbench to
prevent the possibility of tipping (Fig
3).

5.2 Assembly
If you notice transport damage while
unpacking, notify your supplier
immediately. Do not operate the
machine!
Dispose of the packing in an
environmentally friendly manner.
Clean all rust protected surfaces with
a mild solvent.
Mount operating handle:
Insert the operating handle (G, Fig 4)
into the bracket (H).
Lock the lock handle (F).

The operating handle can be mounted
on either the left- or right-hand side of
the mortiser.

To change place remove knob (A, Fig
5), washer (B) and spring C).
Mount tool holder:
The 701 bench top mortiser has a tool
holder (A, Fig 6) that is mounted on
the back of the machine.

Mount diamond sharpening cone:
Insert the diamond sharpening cone
(E) into the opening (F) at the top of
the column.
Secure with the setscrew (G).

5.3 Mains connection

Mains connection and any extension
cords used must comply with
applicable regulations.
The mains voltage must comply with
the information on the machine
licence plate.
The mains connection must have a
10A surge-proof fuse.
Only use connection cables marked
