Safety instructions and hazard warnings

Damage due to non-compliance with these operating instructions
leads to expiry of the warranty. We do not accept liability for dam-
age to property or injury to persons caused by mishandling or
non-compliance with the safety instructions.
• This device left the factory in perfect condition in terms of safety engineering.
To maintain this status and ensure safe operation, the user must comply with the
safety instructions and warnings ("Caution!" and "Note!") contained in these
instructions for use. The following symbols and notices must be observed:
= Note! Read the instructions for use.
= connection point for the protective earth conductor. This screw
must not be undone.

Parallel connection of Output A and B
When a parallel connection is made, the possible output currents of Output A and B
are added. The output voltage remains at a maximum 40 Volts. Because of internal
circuitry, there is no need for external socket connections.
To make a parallel connection, proceed as follows.
• Switch the power supply on.
• Remove all loads that are connected from the DC output sockets.
• Move the selector switch (18) to the "PARALLEL" setting.
• Turn the two "AMPERE" controllers somewhat clockwise. This will make it possi-
ble to adjust the voltage.
• Now adjust the desired output voltage with the controllers for Output A "16/17"
and B "10/11" to the same value (for example output voltage 12 V; Setting A and
B: 12 V )
• To obtain the current output current, add the two "Ampere" displays "2" and "4"
when there are loads on the outputs.
• Connect the positive pole "+" of the load with the measurement socket from Out-
put A (14) or B 12) and the negative pole "-" of the load with the black socket from
Output A (14) or B (12).
Always make certain the voltages of Output A and B are set to identi-
cal values. Otherwise the required output current cannot be used.
Make certain the cross-section of the connection leads is sufficient for
at least 6 A.

Maintenance and cleaning

The power supply is maintenance-free, apart from the need to replace fuses and
clean them once in a while.
Use a clean, lint-free, antistatic and slightly moist cloth to clean the device. Do not
use any abrasive or chemical detergents or detergents containing solvents.
Caution: Always disconnect the power plug from the mains sock-
et before cleaning the device.

Replacing the fuse

If it is no longer possible to switch on the power supply, the mains fuse has probably
tripped.
Proceed as follows to replace the mains fuse:
