together with the ventral rope clamp and a handle, helps to
keep the user's body upright facilitating ascent. Warning:
"FOOT FUTURA" is not a personal protective equipment
(PPE) and must therefore never be used on its own!
Warning, rope clamps are not fall-arrester devices:
- always keep the rope clamp above the point where it is
hooked to the harness (fig.12A),
- never go beyond the belay point with the rope clamp under-
neath the knot! (fig. 12B)
Warning:
- never push the rope clamp up against the knot: it could be
very difficult to release it, if not impossible (fig. 13),
- use your thumb to work the toothed cam to make the rope
clamp slide downwards (fig. 14), do not touch the tooth's
safety device (fig. 15): risk of accidental opening!
- never use the ventral rope clamp without connecting the
upper part of the harness or chest piece to the upper opening
(fig. 16).
16.3 – Procedure for using the "HAND FUTURA" positio-
ning device on the working rope

Warning:
- before putting the device into position on the working rope
check that:
- the anchoring points, both of the working rope and the safety
rope, are above the user and conform to standard EN 795:96,
- connectors are fitted with a gate locking device and conform
to standard EN 362:04,
- the system used to connect the "HAND FUTURA" to the har-
ness is no more than 1 meter long,
- furthermore, after positioning the device on the working rope,
in absolute safety make sure:
- the device is working properly,
- that the working rope is not slack between the anchoring
point and the user,
- you are connected to the safety rope by a fall-arrester devi-
ce, conforming to standard EN 12841:06 type A or EN 353-
2:02, inserted into the safety rope (e.g. such as BACK-UP),

17 – Pre and post use controls
Control and make sure the product:
- has not suffered any mechanical deformation,
- does not show any signs of cracks or wear, in particular
always keep any eye on the wear condition in the sliding zone
of the rope and in the opening for hooking up the connector,
- that the safety device automatically completely closes again
after being released.
