In an unbalanced state, a max. cutting
speed of 140 m/min (460 SFM) must
be observed for this tool over the
entire boring range.
The max. permissible residual imba-
lance of the machine manufacturer
must be observed (if necessary, com-
plete tools have to be balanced).

4. Operation

General notes for tool holders,
serrated tool bodies and serrated
slides
(Figs. 2, 3, 4, 5)
Please refer to the caution in respect of
the clamping (page 10)
The tool holders, serrated tool bodies
and coolant delivery section are each
secured to the slide by a threaded taper
pin, tightening torque 7 Nm (62 in. lbs.).
In order to ensure optimum cutting posi-
tions and a secure fastening, we recom-
mend making a slight to and fro turning
movement with the tool holder while the
threaded taper pin

Tool holders (Fig. 2)
Mounting
The length-adjustable tool holders are
secured to a clamping surface
slider. A minimum shaft clamping length
of 18.5 mm (.73") must be observed.

Mounting
The serrated tool body
slider via a tapered bore. Secure the insert

holders by tightening the fixing screw
to a torque of 7 Nm (62 in. lbs.). The insert
holders can be preset using a scale.
The scale applies to the central slider
position (= 0).
