TVI/AHD Surveillance Camera
These instructions are intended for installers of video
surveillance systems. Please read the instructions
carefully prior to installation and keep them for later
reference.
1
Applications
This high-resolution colour camera is specially designed for
use in video surveillance systems (CCTV). The HD-TVI tech-
nology (High Definition Transport Video Interface) supports
transmission of high-resolution analog video signals (1080p)
via standard coaxial cables with a maximum length of 300 m.
In addition, the camera is equipped with an AHD video signal
output which can be switched to composite signal format.
The rugged metal housing of the camera is weatherproof
(IP 66) and therefore also suitable for outdoor applications.
Due to the swivelling lens (3-axis rotation), the camera is
also suited for wall mounting. The camera is equipped with
a zoom lens. The camera features include automatic white
balance, digital noise suppression and other functions to
be configured via OSD menu. The menu can only be re-
mote-controlled by means of a video recorder with COC
protocol. In the dark, the IR LEDs will illuminate a surveillance
zone of up to 30 m, the IR filter will be deactivated and the
camera will switch to B/ W mode.
2
Important Notes
The camera corresponds to all relevant directives of the EU
and is therefore marked with
.
Protect the camera against extreme temperatures
(admissible ambient temperature range: –10 °C to +50 °C).
When cleaning the housing, never use aggressive deter-
gents or chemicals.
No guarantee claims for the camera and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage will
be accepted if the camera is used for other purposes than
originally intended, if it is not correctly installed, or if it is
not repaired in an expert way.
If the camera is to be put out of operation defini-
tively, take it to a local recycling plant for a disposal
which is not harmful to the environment.

Installation
1) Make a test run first to find the best mounting location.
To avoid scratches, leave the protective film on the dome
(16) during installation.
2) At the mounting location (e. g. wall or ceiling), drill four
holes for fixing the mounting plate (1) and, if necessary,
drill a hole for the connection cable [alternatively, the
cable can be guided through the cable inlet (8) on the
side of the base]. A drill template is supplied as an aid.
Remove the mounting plate from the base (9): Use
the key provided to release the fastening screw (2), push
the mounting plate towards the cable inlet and take it
off. Fasten the mounting plate at the mounting location,
push the base onto the mounting plate again and fasten
the screw (2).
3) Connect the BNC plug TVI (4) to the input of an HD-TVI
compatible video recorder (e. g. TVR series from MONA-
COR) or/and connect the BNC plug AHD (5) to the input
of an AHD compatible video recorder or monitor.
The AHD output (5) can be switched to composite sig-
nal format: Keep the pushbutton (6) pressed for more
than 5 seconds. To return to the AHD signal, press the
pushbutton briefly.
4) Connect a regulated 12 V power supply unit with a per-
manent rating of 400 mA to the inline jack POWER (7).
A low-voltage plug 5.5 / 2.1 mm (outside / inside diameter)
is required. Always observe the correct polarity (centre
contact = +).
CAUTION The infrared LEDs (15) will switch on when
darkness falls. When setting up the camera, never look
directly into the lit infrared LEDs from a close range.
The infrared light may cause eye irritation. However,
the infrared radiation is far below the emission limit
and rated risk-free according to EN 62471.
5) For outdoor installation please note:
The connections (4 – 7) and the cable splitter (3) are not
weatherproof; protect them accordingly.
6) Use the key provided to release the four screws on the
dome (16) and remove the dome from the base (9).
CAUTION Never touch the lens with your fingers. For
cleaning the lens, only use optical lens cleaners.
7) Switch on the video recorder and the monitor connected
and adjust the support of the camera to align the cam-
era to the surveillance zone. Make sure that the cable
connections are neither stretched nor torn.
– Pan: Turn the camera support (10) in the base.
– Tilt: If required, release the two screws (12) and fasten
them after the camera has been aligned.
– Rotation around the lens axis: Turn the ring (11) in
the support.
8) Use the zoom ring (13) to adjust the image section and
the focus ring (14) to focus the image. To make the
adjustments, release the screw on the corresponding
ring and fasten the screw when the adjustments have
been made.
9) After all adjustments have been made, place the dome
onto the base and fasten it by means of the four screws.

Settings via OSD Menu
The camera settings can be changed via an OSD menu which
is operated via PTZ remote control from the video recorder.
The control is made by means of the COC protocol via the
video cable.
To activate the OSD menu, send the control command
"Iris +" or call up "Preset 95". The main menu will appear:
