With Windows XP use the disk management help
program in order to install the hard disk. You can find
the program in the computer management section
of control panel.
With some operating systems you must have admini-
stration rights to install a hard disk.

With Windows ME the hard disk is installed with the
DOS program FDISK. Look under help in Windows for
detailed information on using this program.

Partitioning the drive

Partitioning a drive divides the space into different areas
which can be accessed as separate logic drives (with
letters C:, D:, E: etc.). Read the manual of your operat-
ing system to find out how to partition hard drives with
your particular system.
