2.5 Installation location
The instantaneous water heater
should be installed in an enclosed
frost-free area, if possible close to the
drawing-off point (when dismantled, the
unit is to be stored in a place not subject
to frost, because there will always be some
residual water left inside). The unit is to be
installed vertically, as in Example
surface mounting, or
B
for concealed
mounting.
2.6 Installing the unit
Preparation
Remove the unit cover.
Position the unit, determine where the
securing hole is to be and drill it, then
insert the securing screw (ensure
insertion depth is sufficient).
Cut the electrical connection to length
and strip off the insulation.
In cases of surface-fitted electrical
connections, the rear wall must be
pierced at the appropriate place.
Cold water pipes must be thoroughly
flushed through. Water connections
must be provided with conventional
commercial pressure fittings.
Pierce holes for water connections:

Install water connection:
Concealed connection:
Screw the connection nipple into the
water installation (ensure position and
installation depth are correct).
Surface connection:
Screw the connection nipple with the
flat seal to the pipe bend in the unit.
Feed the electrical connection cable through
the rear wall and the cable aperture, guide
the unit onto the securing screw and over
the connection nipple, and slide it
downwards.
Fit the water connection components with
the seal:

The cable bushing must be used to
provide protection against the
penetration of water.
Connect the fixed lead for the electrical
connection in accordance with the circuit
diagram.
Mark the connected load according to the
electrical connection with a cross on the
unit rating plate and in Table 1 with the aid
of a ballpoint pen.
Conclude installation:
Fit the unit cover on and secure it with
screws.
2.8 First start-up
(only to be carried out by a qualified
installer)
Before screwing the fuses in or
switching them on, all the hot water
valves connected are to be kept open until
the pipe network and the unit are free of
air. Check that the small instantaneous
water heater is functioning properly.
Adjusting the flow rate
If the desired temperature is not being
reached, the flow rate can be changed
by means of the adjustment screw (8).
Handing over the unit
Explain the function of the unit to the users,
and familiarise them with its use. Draw
attention to possible risks (scalding), and
hand over these instructions; these are to be
kept in a safe place.
Cause
The water flow rate of > 2,9 l/min. required for
switching on is not being attained.
– Dirt contamination or limescale formation in the flow
regulator in the fitting or the shower head.
– Filter in the differential pressure switch clogged.
– Flow rate too low.
– The safety thermal cut-out has disconnected the unit
for safety reasons.
– Heating system clogged with limescale (safety ther-
mal cut-out actuated by the heat build-up).
– Heating system is defective.
– Flow rate too low.
– Inlet temperature too high.
2.9 Servicing instructions
When carrying out any work,
disconnect the unit from the mains.
– Clean the filter (15)
Release the earthing screw
connection pipe in the differential pressure
switch
through 90°, and remove it
D
downwards
. Clean the filter.
E
Reassemble in the reverse order.
Make absolutely sure the earthing screw
is tightened up again!
– Activate the safety thermal cut-out:
The actuated safety thermal cut-out can be
reactivated after a fault has been rectified
by means of the reset push button (16).
