1. Operating instructions
1.1 Description of the unit
The DHA 4/8 L hydraulically-controlled small
instantaneous water heater heats the water
while it is flowing through the unit. The
heating system in the unit switches on from a
flow volume of > 2,9 l/min.
1.2 The most important
points - in brief
1. Set the heating capacity at the selector
switch (1)
Stage •
Reduces the hot water
outlet temperatures
Stage ••
Full hot water outlet
temperature
2. Open hot water fitting on the fitting
The unit will heat up; display
"Power" (2).
1.3 Operating
"Overheating" light (3) on:
This means the unit is reducing the power
because of an excessively high inflow
temperature. Once it has cooled down, the
unit will automatically switch the heating
power back on.
The basic power rating, set by a qualified
installer (selectable: 8,8; 6,6; or 4,4 kW at
230 V), the cold water inlet temperature, and
the flow volume at the fitting, are the factors

2.1 Description of the unit / unit
structure
The Stiebel Eltron DHA instantaneous water
heater is a hydraulically-controlled pressure
unit for hot water supply to one or more
draw-off points.

for the user and the qualified installer
which determine the outlet temperature. If
the outlet temperature is too low, set the
selector switch to Stage ••, or reduce the
flow rate.
Table 1 (on page 2) shows the temperature
rise at the individual power ratings, as a
function of the flow rate. If these values are
added to the cold water temperature
prevailing at the place of installation, the hot
water outlet temperature in each case can be
obtained.
Example:
Basic power setting
Flow rate
Temperature increase
Cold water inflow
Hot water outflow

2.3 Specifications and
provisions
– The specifications and provisions of the
local energy supply company and the water
supply company concerned are to be
respected.
2.4 Important notes
– Make sure the data on the unit rating plate
is current
– Install the unit so that it is flush with the
wall
