There are 5 levels and an off mode.
To access the off mode, press and hold the DOWN (–) button for two seconds in volume step one. To switch the function on
again, press the UP (+) button.
The volume level is only changed for the Bluetooth profile in use; either active stereo streaming or phone call. With no
Bluetooth profile in use, the sound level of phone calls is changed.
WARNING! No Bluetooth communication is possible with a remote device in the off mode.
For detailed information about the Bluetooth function; please see "BLUETOOTH" below.
RADIO (Communication radio sound level)
Adjust the level of the sound by pressing the UP (+) or DOWN (–) buttons. A change is confirmed with a voice message.
There are 5 levels and an off mode.
To access the off mode, press and hold the DOWN (–) button for two seconds in volume step one. To switch the function on
again, press the UP (+) button.
When the LED flashes white, the function is switched on.
WARNING! No radio communication is possible in the off mode.
CHANNEL (Radio frequency)
Eight "PMR" radio channels are available for use in the 446 MHz frequency range.
Use the UP (+) or DOWN (–) buttons to select a channel for your radio communication. A voice message confirms the new
setting each time you press the button.
VOX (Voice-operated transmission)
The Lite-Com radio transmits automatically when a certain sound pressure reaches the microphone. This makes hands-
free radio transmission possible.
Use the UP (+) or DOWN (–) buttons to set the sensitivity for voice-operated transmission. A voice message confirms the
new setting each time you press the button. There are five VOX levels and an off mode. To access off mode, press and hold
the DOWN (–) button for two seconds. A voice message "VOX off" confirms off mode and the PTT button should then be
used to transmit. To switch VOX on again, press the UP (+) button.
The radio is equipped with BCLO (Busy Channel Lock Out), where VOX operation is not possible if the channel is already in
use by another transmission. A tone signal indicates "busy channel".
NOTICE! To start a VOX transmission, the ambient-noise compensated speech microphone on the headset has to be
positioned very close to your mouth (1–3 mm)! (G)
When using VOX transmission, the first part of a message is normally "cut off" before the radio starts to transmit. Therefore,
begin your message with a short "unnecessary" word and talk in a loud voice!
Hearing your own voice reproduced in the headset is a confirmation of that the radio is transmitting.
SQUELCH (Noise suppression)
"Squelch" means that background hiss in the earphones is muted when the incoming signal is below a threshold level.
When receiving a sufficiently strong radio signal, the signal returns instantly to the selected volume level.
Use the UP (+) or DOWN (–) buttons to adjust the squelch level. A voice message confirms the new setting each time you
press the button. There are five squelch levels and an off mode. Level 1 is the most sensitive and opens the receiver at the
lowest incoming signal. To access off mode, press and hold the DOWN (–) button for two seconds in volume step one. A
voice message "squelch off" confirms off mode. To switch the squelch on again, press the UP (+) button.
SUB CHANNEL (Selective squelch)
"Sub channel" means that a certain sub audible tone is transmitted along with the speech in order to "open" a receiver with
the same tone. This allows multiple groups of users to use the same channel without having to listen to the other groups.
NOTICE! Any other radio communication, which does not include the selected tone, will be blocked by this "filter".
Use the UP (+) or DOWN (–) buttons to set the sub channel.A voice message confirms the new setting each time you press
the button. There are 38 tones (CTCSS) which are programmed with numbers 1-38 (see table F on the inside cover). If the
function is switched to "OFF", all communication on the channel can be monitored.
NOTICE! The busy channel lock out (BCLO) blocks transmission on a busy channel. (See "VOX" above.)
