When
this switch
is depressed
(a), power is sup-
plied to the unit and the equalizer control LED indi-
cator lights up. The unit has a built-in muting circuit,
so that It begins to operate
normally about
3 se-
conds after power has been switched ON.
2) Eqaulizéer controls
The
audio
frequency
band
(20
Hz — 20
kHz)
is
divided into 10 bands, the controls providing a con-
tinuous variation of +10
dB about the center fre-
quency of each band.
When a control is raised, the
corresponding
frequency
range
is boosted,
and
when the control is lowered it Is attenuated.
When the controls are in the "O" (click) position, a
roughly flat response Is cbtained.

'TAPE MONITOR
When
using a 3 head tape deck (erase, record and
playback heads all independent), the sound to be re-
corded can
be compared
instantaneously
with the
sound which has been recorded.
This check on the
quality of the recorded
sound is known
as the tape
monitor (for operating procedure, see pages 2 — 3).
OPERATION

In this position, the sound adjusted
with the graphic equalizer can be re-
corded, and the red indicator above
the switch lights up. When the tape
monitor switch on the graphic equa-
lizer is set to OFF, the sound
to be
recorded can be heard. When using
the tape monitor, set to ON.
RECORDING...
NOTE:
® Do not depress 2 or more switches simultaneously.
® If none
of the 3 switches
are depressed,
the RE-
CORDING
indicator lignts up but no sound is heard
(not set to any position).
Make sure to press the
switches desired.

THE GRAPHIC EQUALIZER
1. Set the input selector of the steréo
amplifier to
the source desired.
2. Set the tape monitor switch on the
fier to ON (TAPE).
3. Set the tone control on the stereo amplifier to give
a "flat" response (in the case of a tone switch, set
to DEFEAT).

equalizer to ON.
5. Set the tape monitor switch on the graphic equa:
lizer to OFF.
6. Adjust the sound quality by means of the equalizer
controls.
