Connection to the power mains
— The turntable unit must be connected to a mains power outlet (AC
only) for a supply voltage of 230 V at 50 or 60 Hz, or for 115 V at 50
or 60 Hz, as indicated on the type plate.
—
For this purpose,
the appliance
coupler on the power
cord
included with the unit is inserted into the receptacle 16 on the rear
panel of the unit.
— The set carries voltage even when stopped. It is necessary to
unplug it from the mains outlet to cut power off.
Connection to the amplifier
—
Plug jack (13) on the cinch cable supplied into the socket at the
right side of the amplifier at the phonomagnet input and plug jack
(15) into the socket at the left side of the amplifier at the phono-
magnet input.
— Ifyouramplifier only has 5-pin DIN jacks, you will need an adapter,
Dual Article No. 262 483, which is available from your dealer.
— Connect
the earth lead (14) to the chassis terminal on the
amplifier.
Installation of the cartridge
If your dealer has not already installed a cartridge in your record
player and you wish to install one of your own selection, please note
the following:
e The pick-up arm is suitable for all 1⁄2" cartridges weighing 3 to
129.
Using cartridge weighing 5 to 10 g ensures that no unwanted
pick-up arm resonances develop on the pick-up arm which has
an effective weight of 15 g.
The geometry of the pick-up arm is designed for systems with the
international standard overall height of 18 mm (distance between
tip of stylus and mounting surface).
The supplied wedges (18) can be used for cartridges which are
taller or shorter (Fig. 5)).
The cartridge is at the manufacturer's intended setting when its
mounting surface (A) is parallel to the record (B).
— Remove audio head from the Polystyrene insert.
— Loosely fasten the cartridge to the head shell using the mounting
installation kit supplied with your cartridge.
— Fit the connection leads to the connection pins on the cartridge

= left-hand channel, ground
— Fit head shell onto tonearm and fasten using nut 8 (Fig. 2).
— Remove the overhang adjustment gauge from the accessory
pack and place it on the tonearm bearing and platter spindle.
— Adjust the cartridge parallel to the head shell so that the stylus is
positioned exactly on the line at a distance of 221 mm.
— Tighten the cartridge screw connection.
Balancing the tonearm
Contact and anti-skating force adjustment
1. Switch off anti-skating device by turning adjustment knob 7 fully
anticlockwise (Fig. 3)
Set stylus contact force 4 to 0.
Remove counterbalance for pick-up arm from the Polystyrene
insert and slide onto the arm until there is a noticeable resistance.
Then, applying a slight axial pressure, turn the knurled knob (Fig.

. Move the lift lever to the X position..
. Move the tonearm
into the area between
platter edge and
tonearm rest. Tonearm will be lowered after a few seconds.
6. Turn the knurled knob to move the tonearm counterbalance 3
forwards or backwards until the tonearm assumes a horizontal
position.
When a suitable cartridge is used, the mark on the arm counter-
balance must be in the area of the scale on the pick-up arm post
. Set pick-up arm back on its rest and lock it in place.
Turn scale 4 to select the contact force required for the pick-up
system
fitted. You will find the relevant contact
force in the
specifications supplied with your cartridge.

Dust cover
Fit the dust cover 1 into the hinges 2. In this position, the dust cover
can be removed at any time.
Record speed 33, 45 or 78 rpm
— Select the record speed (33, 45 or 78 rpm) using switch 12.
— If the speed is changed while a record is being played, the
tonearm
will be momentarily
lifted to prevent damage
to the
record or stylus,
— Note: Your record player can also play records at 78 rpm.
A cartridge with a special scanning stylus is required. Ask your
dealer,
Start
— Move lift lever 5 back to position Y. .
— Release tonearm.
— Move the tonearm by hand so that it is positioned above the
leader groove on the record or to the track you wish to hear.
— The platter will turn.
—
Move lift lever 5 forwards to position ZL.
— The tonearm will be lowered.
— The turntable can also be started without moving the lift lever 5
towards the rear.
— The tonearm will remain poised above the record until the crystal
controlled platter speed has been reached. The stylus will now be
gently lowered.
Interrupting playback, lifting the tonearm
The tonearm can be raised and lowered at any point using the lift
lever 5
— even for brief pauses.
— tonearm lowered = lift lever points towards the front X.
— tonearm raised = lift lever points towards the rear Y,
Automatic stopping during play to protect record
and stylus
To protect your records, the CS 750 features an integrated automa-
tic system which lifts the pick-up arm in response to any vibration or
any change in the speed of the turntable ring
When
the turntable
ring is again turning at the quartzcontrolled
speed, the arm gently descends onto the record
This feature also prevents the type of distortion ("howling") which
occurs when a record speeds up with the pick-up arm already on it.
Stop
— Upon reaching the end of the record, the pick-up arm lifts up and
the unit switches off.
— You can also tum the player off by raising the pick-up arm with cue
lever 5 and setting it back on the pick-up arm rest.
— It is always best to lock the pick-up arm in place.
