No standard BaseUnits may be connected to the BaseUnits of the Ex
modules.

When laying the cables and wiring, adhere to the
installation and setup regulations according to DIN EN IEC
60079-14 as well as the country-specific regulations.
Ensure intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe cables
are completely separate during wiring. They must be
routed in separate cable ducts and must maintain a
minimum distance of 50 mm from "non-intrinsically safe
cables".
The shield connection is separated from the intrinsically
safe circuits and is connected to the local potential
equalization system. Any significant loop current through
the shield should be avoided because the shield is not
intrinsically safe and the "increased safety" explosion
protection type is not present.
You may connect actuators from zone 0, zone 1, zone 2
as well as zone 20, zone 21, zone 22 and the safe area to
the BaseUnit. You can find the pin assignments of the I/O
module in the corresponding operating instructions.
The intrinsic safety of the interconnection of I/O module,
sensors and cabling must be proven by calculating the
safety-related characteristic values. These values are
stated in the respective Ex certificates or on the data
sheet of the cable.
