It makes sense to connect the appliance to an 11 kg liquid gas bottle. We recommend
operating the appliance with a two-bottle system. This switches automatically from
one bottle to the reserve bottle as soon as the former is empty.
If the system is to be operated with 33 kg bottles then please speak with your specia-
list gas supplier.
5. Connecting of the appliance
Before connecting the appliance please check that the appliance is set to the gas type
that is available at the installation location. It must be ensured that the delivery setting
on the appliance corresponds to the available gas type. If this is not the case then the
initial operation may not take place. Only the manufacturer or an authorised agent may
change the appliance setting to another gas type. An authorised connection fitting (gas
shut-off valve) must be installed in the gas pipeline at an easily accessible location (only
for natural gas). After connection all gas-bearing lines must be checked for leaks at
operating pressure by painting on a frothing agent or leak detection spray. If no bubbles
form then there is no leak.
Leak testing with an open flame is strictly prohibited.
Notes for the fitter regarding the connection of liquid gas appliances:
A DVGW (German association for gas and water applications)-certified liquid gas pi-
peline and a certified pressure device are required for the delivery setting 'liquid gas'.
Enquire with your gas supply company.
The connection and exchange of the liquid gas bottle must be carried out in a flame-free
atmosphere.Avoid twisting the gas pipe when connecting the gas bottle.
Stand the gas bottle up in a stable location after removing the safety cap and un-
screwing the safety stopper (Caution! Left-hand thread on the bottle neck).
Check for the presence and sound condition of the seal in the bottle valve.
Do not use any additional seals! The pipeline must be connected with the outlet thread
on the pressure regulator through anti-clockwise turning with a suitable wrench. A se-
cond wrench with a corresponding nominal width must also be held on the wrench
areas of the pressure regulator in order to prevent the regulator from turning and to
prevent impermissible force transmission.
