7. AUDIO CONNECTIONS

Switch off the W.A.M.S-04D PA system and the units to be connected before making or changing the
connections.
7.1 Inputs
Three microphones and an audio unit with line level (e.g. CD player, PC, music instrument) may be
connected via balanced or unbalanced 6.3 mm jacks as audio sources:
• to connect the microphones use inputs MIC 1 to MIC 3
• to connect the audio unit with line level use input AUX IN
Information on choosing appropriate signal cables
Signal cables should be short and direct, since high frequencies will mostly be absorbed if cables are unnecessarily
long. Besides that a longer cable may lead to humming and noise trouble. If long cable runs are unavoidable, you
should use balanced cables.
7.2 Outputs
The outputs LINE OUT and AUX OUT allow connection of subsequent audio units with line level inputs (e.g.
mixer, another PA system, active speaker system) via balanced or unbalanced 6.3 mm jacks. A recording
device may be connected to the stereo RCA output REC OUT. The mixed signal of the signal sources
adjusted with the individual level controls and the tone control is available at each output.

7.3 Connecting two or more PA systems in series

For larger indoor PA applications where the sound has to be radiated as even as possible, two or more PA
systems may be connected in series. For this connect your signal sources to the primary unit and connect
one of the line outputs LINE OUT or AUX OUT to the adjustable line input AUX IN of the first secondary unit.
Connect further units likewise.
If no other signal sources are needed besides one wireless microphone, the PA systems do not have to be
connected. The microphone signal will be transmitted to all PA systems via radio.
