6.3
Installing the device
The device is designed for a vertical position of use and, for
compliance with the protection class, may only be installed
and used in this position.
The correct position of use is defined by the opening of the
hinged socket lids and inspection windows to the top. With
a deviating position of use, the protection class require-
ments can no longer be met, which is to be taken into con-
sideration in particular when using the device in an outdoor
area. Devices complying with protection class IP44 are pro-
tected against splash water but are not suitable for continu-
ous overhead sprinkling.
For devices installed in an outdoor area, corresponding
protective measures (e.g. a weather protection roof) are to
be provided if necessary.

6.3.1 Installation height
For the receptacle combination, MENNEKES recommends an
installation height of a minimum of 100cm, measured from
the even floor level to the lower edge of the device.
• Please observe the country-specific regulations for the
erection and installation of electrotechnical facilities.

Risk of sustaining injury due to electric shock
There is a risk of sustaining major injury or death when
working on or with live components.
• De-energise the supply line to the device prior to
commencing installation tasks.
• Secure the de-energised supply voltage connection point
against inadvertent reactivation by other persons.
• Check that the supply line is de-energised prior to
commencing installation tasks.
6.3.2 Opening the cable entry
The enclosure may have several openings, with all but one
being equipped with a closure plug.

• Use the prescribed opening for the cable entry, or unscrew
(as required) a closure plug (1) with suitable tools.
• Use the closure plug to close another opening in the
enclosure which is no longer required.
• Fit a cable gland (2) (not included in the scope of delivery)
that meets the relevant protection class requirements in
the existing opening.
Possible cable gland dimensions:
M20 - M25 - M32 - M40

6.3.3 Selection of fastening elements
Suitable screws and dowels must be used for wall installa-
tion.
