Intended use
The product is designed to charge up to two 9 V rechargeable block batteries (NiMH/NiCd). A
USB device can be charged via the USB charging port. The charger can be supplied with power
via the included power adapter or via a USB port on your computer. The charger is protected
against overload and short-circuit.
It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture, e.g. in
bathrooms, must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you
use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged.
In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc.
Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only
together with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information
on proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting
personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/
guarantee.
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become
dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed
if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
can damage the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are
connected to the product.
• The product may be operated or stored only at a location out of the reach of
children.
• Use extreme caution when children are present. Children might attempt to
insert objects into the openings in the product housing or to short-circuit the
rechargeable batteries. This may cause a fire or explosion. Risk of fatal injury!
• The included power adapter complies with Protection Class II. Operate it using a
normal household power outlet only.
• In schools and educational institutions, hobby and do-it-yourself workshops, the
use of the product must be supervised by trained staff.
• For installations in industrial facilities, follow the accident prevention regulations
for electrical systems and equipment of the government safety organization or the

corresponding authority for your country.
• Do not place any containers filled with liquids, vases or plants on or next to the
product. Liquid entering the device interior will destroy the product. This also
poses a great risk of fire or explosion! Should liquids come into contact with or
enter the product, turn off all poles of the power outlet the product is connected
to. To do so, first turn off the appropriate circuit breaker or remove the fuse.
Then turn off the appropriate residual current operated circuit breaker. Now it is
safe to disconnect the product from the power outlet. Cease use of the product
and take it to a specialist workshop for repair or dispose of it in accordance with
environmental regulations.
• Make sure there is sufficient ventilation during use. Never cover the product and the
rechargeable batteries.
• Make sure there is sufficient clearance between the product and other objects. Keep
the product away from highly flammable materials (i.e. curtains, paper), liquids (i.e.
gasoline) and gases. This poses a fire hazard!
• Never leave the product unattended during use.
• Do not wear any metallic or conductive materials (i.e. chains, bracelets, rings, etc.). If a
rechargeable battery or the product short-circuits, there is a risk of fire and explosion!
• Installing metallic cables and contacts between the rechargeable battery and charging
slot is prohibited. The rechargeable battery you wish to charge must be inserted
directly into the product's charging slot.
• Operate the product in temperate climate zones only, do not use in the tropics.
• Do not use the product just after moving it from a cold to a warm space. When this
happens, condensation may form which can cause malfunction or damage. There
is a risk of lethal electric shock! Allow the product to reach room temperature
before use. This might take several hours.
• Do not leave rechargeable batteries lying about. Children or pets may swallow
them. Consult a physician immediately should this happen.
• Never short-circuit or disassemble rechargeable batteries and never throw them
into a fire. Never damage a rechargeable battery's outer casing. This poses a risk
of fire and explosion.
• Use the product to charge NiMH or NiCd rechargeable batteries only. Never insert
other rechargeable batteries (i.e. lithium, nickel-zinc, etc.) into the product. This
poses a great risk of fire or explosion.
• Never attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. This poses a risk of fire
and explosion. Non-rechargeable batteries are intended for one-time use and
must be disposed of correctly when empty.
• Rechargeable batteries may not become moist or wet.
• Never charge a rechargeable battery while it is still hot. Allow the rechargeable
battery to reach room temperature before inserting it into the product.
• Check the temperature of the rechargeable battery from time to time during
charging. Overheating is a sign of a defective rechargeable battery. Remove the
overheated rechargeable battery from the product and cease using it.
• Never attempt to charge damaged, leaking or deformed rechargeable batteries.
This may cause a fire or explosion. Dispose of rechargeable batteries that can no
longer be used in accordance with environmental regulations.
• Leaking or damaged rechargeable batteries may cause chemical burns if they
come into contact with your skin, wear suitable protective hand wear when
handling such batteries.
• Follow all safety and charging instructions provided by the rechargeable battery
manufacturer.
• The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
• Only use the supplied mains adapter as a power supply. As an alternative, you
may supply the charger with voltage by connecting it directly to a USB port on
your computer.
• Only connect the power adapter to a normal mains socket connected to the public
supply. Before plugging in the power adapter, check whether the voltage stated on
the power adapter complies with the voltage of your electricity supplier.
• Never connect or disconnect power adapters if your hands are wet.
• Never unplug the power adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the cable;
always use the grips on the plug.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cable is not pinched, kinked or
damaged by sharp edges.
• Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them.
This poses a risk of injury.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the power adapter from the mains socket during
storms.
