Rev. 03 - 07/2015 - Cod. 1501151 - Instruction manual for vacuum chamber packaging machines Mod. C254-C308-C312-C412-C420
5.1 CONTROLS
The machines are equipped with control panels that have a three digit display and the possibility of saving up
to ten programs.
5.2 FUNCtIONS
5.2.1 EvaCUaTING ThE aIR: ThE vaCUUM FUNCTION
This is the basic parameter with which the absence of air to be achieved in the package is measured.
The maximum final vacuum created inside the chamber varies from about 0.5 millibars to 2 millibars in optimal
conditions.
Since in most cases the aim is to achieve the maximum vacuum possible, it is good practice to add an addi-
tional vacuum time of about 10 seconds once the machine indicates the maximum vacuum has been created.
In order to reduce the packaging time, the maximum number of panels should be placed inside the vacuum
chamber, in line with the package volume.
The vacuum is set on a scale from 10 to 99.
5.2.2 PROtECtINg PROdUCtS that aRE EaSIly CRUShEd: thE gaS FUNCtION
This is an important function, which allows delicate and compression-sensitive products to be packaged, pre-
venting them from being crushed due to a difference in pressure.
Please contact the distribution companies for the gas mixture selection, who offer a vast range of specific
mixtures for the type of product, besides providing the pressure adjustment equipment.
The gas function is set as time-set (seconds).
5.2.3 SEaLING ThE baGS hERMETICaLLy: ThE SEaLING FUNCTION
Once the vacuum has been created and the gas injected (if applicable), the hermetic sealing process of the
bags is activated via one or more sealing bars.
The sealing duration varies according to the thickness of the bags, the ambient room and the amount of work
to be carried out.
The sealing line on the bag must be uniform, well defined and with no melting points.
5.2.4 CREaTING ThE vaCUUM IN EXTERNaL CONTaINERS: ThE CONTaINER (jaR) vaCUUM
FUNCtION
Creating a vacuum in rigid vacuum containers, allows liquid products (sauce, gravy, etc.) or products that are
easily crushed (vegetables, pastries) to be preserved.
The air can be drawn from the container can be entered directly into the vacuum chamber, if the size permits
this. Since the machines can develop a strong vacuum, the container and its special lid, which has a suction
valve, must be sufficiently resistant.
The resistance must remain unaltered even at low temperatures, since most products shall be kept in the refri-
gerator at an average temperature of 3°C.
The function is activated via the relative button and stopped via Stop.
5.2.5 PUmP OIl dEhUmIdIFICatION CyClE
With this maintenance cycle, residues of oxidation and liquids, which are deposited on the bottom of the pump
oil tank during periods of inactivity, are drained together with the used oil.
