If you wish to remove the optical tube from the base, it is
easy to do (Figure 22b.):
Figure 22b: If desired, the optical tube can easily be removed from the
base for transport.

For the 114 model, unthread the knob on the tube clamp
until you can open the clamp, then remove the telescope.

For the 130 model, unthread the knob on the dovetail
clamp, which secures the dovetail bar, and remove the
optical tube (with tube rings and dovetail still attached).
