13. Maintenance and cleaning

Servicing or repair must only be carried out by a specialist or specialist workshop. The product
contains no parts that require servicing by you, apart from the battery. Therefore, never open it
(except for the procedures described in these operating instructions for insertion/replacing the
batteries).
A dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient for cleaning the outside. If the camera is more strongly
contaminated, moisten the cloth with a little luke-warm water.

Do not put too much pressure on the display; this can cause scratch marks or fail-
ures of the display.
Never use any aggressive cleaning agents, alcohol or other chemical solutions that
would damage the casing (discolouration).

14. Troubleshooting

The camera does not take pictures or suddenly stops doing so:
• Check the condition of the batteries. If they are not fully charged, replace them and try it again.
• Ensure that the switch is in the position "ON".
• Ensure that the memory card is of good quality. Old, slow cards may encounter problems.
• Check if the memory card is writing-protected (slider right at the card).
The camera does not switch on:
• Check if you have inserted the 8 AA batteries.
• Check if the batteries have been inserted correctly and that the battery compartment has been
pushed in all the way.
• Check if you have inserted the memory card. The camera will not start up without!
• Check that the slider is in the correct position ("TEST" or "ON") and not between 2 switch
positions.
• The slider must not be switched directly from position "TEST" to "ON" or vice versa. You need
to switch off the camera first "OFF".
