8. Commissioning of the camera

• To perform the following items, you first need to open the lock (B6) of the camera and fold
open the lid.
• When you are done with insertion of the batteries and the memory card, as well as with con-
figuration, close the lower camera lid and lock it again (B6).

Before you start, check if the camera is off. If this is not the case, move the switch
(B4) to the position "OFF".
a) Inserting the batteries
• Now pull out the battery compartment by the metal bracket (B7).
• Insert 8 AA batteries in the compartment. Observe the proper polarity (plus/+ and minus/-). In
the battery compartment, the direction in which you have to insert the batteries is marked.
• Now push the battery holder into the camera again in the right direction until it is latched
completely. Then fold the metal bracket over again.

Even with the camera off, it may consume a small amount in the μA-range. There-
fore, we recommend removing the battery if you are not using the camera.
For this, it is sufficient to pull the entire battery chute out a little.
