The beam clamp fitted in this way can be put into use.
The beam clamp must not carry any load during the
fitting procedure.
RIGHT – The arms are in contact with the vertical or
horizontal part of the supporting beam (Fig. 6).
WRONG – There is a gap between one or both arms
and the flange of the support beam (Fig. 6).
Removal of the beam clamp
Before removing the beam clamp, do not forget to
loosen the locking screw (2) if present. After loosening
the locking screw, you can open the arms of the beam
clamp with the tie rod (1) and take the beam clamp off
the support beam.
NEVER loosen the tie rod (1) or
the locking screw (2), if present,
when there is a load on the beam
clamp.

6. Testing / servicing

Regular inspection and test
Regular inspection and test by a qualified person is
required in order to ensure that the beam clamp remains
in a safe state. This testing and inspection is to be
carried out at least once a year, or more frequently if it is
used heavily or under difficult conditions. The test
consists primarily of visual and functional checks; the
condition of components in terms of damage, wear,
corrosion or other changes are to be assessed, and the
completeness and effective operation of safety
equipment must be established. The testing usually
requires a test load in the region of the permitted rated
load. Repairs may be carried out only by specialist
workshops that use genuine PFEIFER replacement parts.

Maintenance
For the beam clamp this only requires a check of
adequate greasing of the threaded spindle and of the
joints on the plates.
