1. Foreword

Caution: These operating instructions must be read
carefully by every user prior to initial putting into
service. These operating instructions will help you to
become familiar with the beam clamp and to make full
and correct use of it. The operating instructions contain
important notes on how to operate the beam clamp
safely, correctly and profitably. Compliance with them
helps to avoid dangers, to minimize repair costs and
downtime, and to increase the reliability and lifetime of
the beam clamp. The operating instructions must
always be available at the place where the beam clamp
is used. The operating instructions must be read and
applied by every person who is asked to work with or
on the beam clamp, e. g.
• Operating, including setting up, care and fault
rectification in the course of work
• Repair (maintenance, inspection) and/or
• Transport
As well as the operating instructions and the accident
prevention regulations applicable in the country of use
and at the place of installation, accepted rules for
working safely and correctly must also be observed.

2. Intended operation / use

Maximum carrying capacity
ECODUR beam clamps were developed to enable a
rapid setting up to be followed by the use of an attached
hoist to lift loads up to the stated carrying capacity.
The carrying capacity stated on the device is the
maximum load, and must not be exceeded.
Areas of use
ECODUR beam clamps are suitable for attaching to
T-beams or I-beams. Their primary use is as an
attachment point for hoists, but can also be used for
lifting beams under the hoist. The flange gradient may be
up to a maximum of 20 %.
Danger areas
• Lifting or transporting loads must be avoided
whenever anybody is in the area made hazardous by
the load.
• Entering the area under a suspended load is not
permitted (Fig. 2).
• Loads must not be left in a raised position over a long
period or without supervision.
• The user must only initiate movement of the load after
he has first convinced himself that the load is properly
attached and that there is nobody in the hazardous
area.
Attachment of the device
When suspending the device, the user must ensure that
the beam clamp or the hoist can be operated in such a
way that the user is not at risk from the device itself,
from the means of support or from the load.
