9.5.2.3 Glass pane
Avoid damage when removing/fitting the glass pane.
!Caution
Avoid/remove fingerprints on the glass pane(s) as they will burn into the glass.
Use the supplied glass pane cleaner to remove fingerprints from the glass pane(s).
!Tip
9.5.2.4 Disassembly of glass pane in door
To remove the glass pane in the door, please follow the instructions below (see Appendix 2, fig. 18):
Ø
Open the door.
Ø
Lift the door out by first sliding it upwards, then tilt it slightly forwards and allow it to lower.
Ø
Place the door on a flat surface.
Ø
Remove the nuts from the strips.
Ø
Remove the strips.
Ø
Lift out the glass pane. The pane seal is then also taken out.
When replacing the glass pane always replace the seal in the door (= seal between the glass pane and the

door).
Check the door sealing cord and replace if necessary (see paragraph 9.5.2.2).
9.5.2.5 Assembly of glass pane in door
Assemble the glass pane in the door according to the steps described in paragraph 9.5.2.3. 'Disassembly of glass
pane in door', only in reverse order. (see Appendix 2, fig. 18):
Assembly of the door is somewhat different.
!Caution
Proceed as for assembly of the door:
Ø
Bring the hole at the bottom of the hinging part of the door exactly below the lower pin.
Ø
Slide the door up. The pin slides into the lower hole.
Ø
Bring the hole at the top of the hinging part of the door exactly above the upper pin and allow the door to lower.
The pin slides into the upper hole.
Ø
The door is now assembled.
Do not fasten the bolts too tight to avoid breaking off and/or stripping: overtightening will cause breakage.
!Caution
Place the glass pane (including new pane seal) with the logo to the bottom right.
9.5.2.6 Heat shield (optional)
When using a heat shield and an isulated tube, it is possible to place the appliance closer to the wall. This heat
shield is optionally available via your supplier.
A heat shield can only be placed if the flue gas discharge on the top side of the appliance has been connected.
Caution!
Proceed as follows (see Appendix 2, fig. 14).
Attaching the guard plate to the appliance:
Ø
Loosen the 4 pre-mounted bolts at the back of the appliance by a few turns
Ø
Place the plate against the back of the appliance.
Ø
Re-tighten the 4 bolts.
9.5.2.7 Mounting the lower frame
Ø
If outdoor air is connected, the plates concerned must be broken out (see appendix 2, fig. 12).
Ø
Optional lower frame is mounted to the Modivar 5 by means of the four supplied bolts (see appendix 2, fig. 13).
