1. Operating instructions

1.1 Description of device

The charging controller ELFAMATIC V 3000 continuously calculates the correct amount of thermal
energy stored in the storage heaters.
The following adjusters are on the front of the device:
E1 = Full charging; the outside temperature at which full charging of the storage heater is to be
performed
E2 = Charging start; the outside temperature at which charging of the storage heaters is to
begin
Ab = Reduced charging in % of nominal charging level with activation of terminals KU1 and KU2
ED = Signal lamp, showing control signal as clock signal of duty cycle (ED).

1.2 Operation

Initial settings can be made within the setting ranges for E1 (full charging) and E2 (charging start).
It is important to ensure that the difference between the temperatures set at adjusters E2 and E1
is at least 8 K (°C).
Adjuster E1 (full charging)
Adjuster E1 is used to set the outside temperature (°C) at which full charging is to be performed.
The setting value for E1 depends on the normal outside temperature and the release time
(charging model). The normal outside temperature is given in DIN EN 12831 Supplement 1 or must
be obtained from the responsible power supply company.
