1. Before using the unit for the first time, flush through the connecting pipes and
hoses thoroughly. To flush, detach the flexible hose from the water inlet of the
undersink unit and hold it over a drain or bucket. Turn on the water and allow it to
run for several minutes. Then reattach the hose to the water inlet of the undersink
unit and check the installation for leaks.
2. Set a outlet pressure 'B' of 3 bar on the pressure reducer:
a. Gas bottle with self closing valve: Turn the red lever '1' down (open). To adjust
the outlet pressure 'B' use the adjusting screw '2'. Turn it anticlockwise to reduce
the pressure. Turn it clockwise to increase the pressure.
b. Gas bottle with hand wheel: Open the hand wheel valve at the CO
pressure in the gas bottle will be shown in manometer 'A'. Turn the red lever '1'
down (open). To adjust the outlet pressure 'B', use the adjusting screw '2'. Turn it
anticlockwise to reduce the pressure. Turn it clockwise to increase the pressure.
3. Check the gas-carrying connections for leaks. Caution - gas released can be very
cold. Use a leak detecting spray or soapy water so that even minor leaks will be
detected.
4. If no leaks are found, plug the supply plug into the socket to activate the unit.
5. The language selection appears on the display. Select your desired language.
6. Then enter the time and the current date. To do this, touch on the text fields,
change the values via + and - and save the entry by tapping on the tick.
7. Specify whether the tap of your Zip unit can drain into a sink or container with
a drain or is only positioned above a tray without a drain. This information is
required for the subsequent tank flushing.
8. A prompt will appear on the display asking you to flush the filter. A container with
a capacity of about 10 litres will be needed to collect the water.
a. Open the service hatch on the front of the unit. Place the end of the plastic hose
in the collecting container and open the valve on the hose.
b. Touch the green arrow to start the flush. The flushing process takes about two
minutes.
c. Close the valve on the hose, stow the hose in the unit and touch the arrow to
continue.
9. Follow the instructions for the subsequent tank rinse. If your tap is installed above
a sink or tableau with a drain, activate the automatic flush function. If not, you
must draw water manually when the corresponding display appears until the tank
is empty.
10. Start temperature calibration, following the instructions on the display. During
this process the boiling point of water will be determined and the boiling water
temperature will be set accordingly. Calibration takes five to ten minutes. During
this time the red lever will flash and steam may discharge from the tap.
11. Booster settings appears. Select "No Booster" to continue.
12. A prompt will appear on the display asking you to flush the carbonizer with carbon
dioxide. Tap the green arrow to start the flush. Carbon dioxide then flows through
the appliance for 30 seconds and audibly out of the fitting.
13. Using a 6 mm Allen key or a large flat blade screw driver to adjust the flow rate of
sparkling water to 1.6 l/min at the carbonation valve.
a. Rotate the adjustment screw "A" clockwise to decrease the flow.
b. Rotate the adjustment screw "A" anti-clockwise to increase the flow.
To measure the flow rate you have set, use a measuring cup or jug and run the spar-
kling water for 15 seconds. (The HydroTap has a default 15 seconds dispense time,
which will help in your flow rate set up.) Multiply the amount of water dispensed in
that 15 seconds by 4 to get your flow rate in litres per minute. 1.6 litres per minute is
the optimum flow rate.
