Searching a specific passage
Play
mode:
While
the track of a CD is being played you want to
find
a
specific passage of
a
track by moving the
laser forward
or
backward at high speed.
(-
Press
the SCAN >> key for searching
in
the forward
direction.
(e
Press
the SCAN << key for searching in the reverse
direction.
The laser moves
in
the selected direction at
two different
speeds, depending on how long the SCAN key is pressed.

Press
the SCAN >> or SCAN << key briefly.
The laser jumps forward or backward by
1
second and
continues
to play.
Press
the SCAN key
longer.
The
speed increases by
a
factor
of
10.
Hold the SCAN key down.
The speed increases by
a
factor of 50 and is retained until
the
key is released.
2.3.8 Shift
mode

Set cue point
Pause
mode:
The CD
player is in pause mode. You want
to find
and mark an exact position, i.e. set a cue point.

Press
the SCAN << or SCAN <<
key.
This
activates the shift mode. Muting in pause mode
is
cancelled;
depending on the laser position on the CD,
a
sequence of
different length (250
rns
to
500 ms) is
played endlessly (audible
loop).
