Electrostatic discharge
(ESD)
during maintenance and repair
Many lCs and semiconductors are sensitive
to electrostatic
discharge (ESD).
Their life can be drastically reduced by improper
handling of such components during maintenance and repair.
Please
observe the followimg ESD rules when handling
sensitive components:
MOS
components are highly sensitive to electrostatic
charges. Avoid all contact with the connection pins unless
your wrist
is
grounded and you work on a bench
that
is
lined
with
a
grounded, electrically conductive mat.
