6. Using for the first time and operation
Important! This hedge trimmer is designed for the
trimming of hedges, bushes and shrubs. If it is used
for any other purpose not expressly permitted by
these operating instructions there may be a risk of
damage to the hedge trimmer or serious injury to the
user. The hedge trimmer comes with a two-hand
safety switch. It only works if the switch on the guide
handle (Fig. 2 / Item 1) is pressed with one hand and
either the switch on top of the handle (Fig. 2 / Item 2)
or the switch below the handle (Fig. 2 / Item 3) is
pressed with the other hand.
Releasing any of the switches will bring the hedge
trimmer to a stop.
b
Rotatable rear handle (Fig. 2/4/5)
The hedge trimmer comes with a rotatable rear
handle. This can be turned towards the left by
90° and towards the right by both 90° and 180°.
To do so, the slide (see Fig. 2/Item 4; Fig. 4/Item
4; Fig. 5/Item 4) must be slid in the direction of
the arrow. If turned to the left the handle locks
into position at 90° (Fig. 4). If turned to the right
the handle locks at 90° or 180° (Fig. 5). To turn
the handle back again the slide (Item 4) must be
slid in the direction of the arrow again. Please
make sure that the end of the handle audibly
locks into the motor housing.
