2. To switch on the machine, first press the safety lock-off (13) and
then press the ON/OFF switch (3). You can now release the safety
lock-off.
3. The chain saw is equipped with soft start. The machine will reach
its max. speed after 2 – 3 seconds. Wait until the machine has
reached high engine speed and then start cutting. During operation
the green LED will turn on. If the red LED turns on, the machine is
overloaded.
4. To switch off the chain saw, release the ON/OFF switch. The chain
will immediately stop while the machine is still running out.

Handguard

The chain brake is a protective mechanism that is triggered by the
front hand guard (6). When the chain saw is jerked back by a
kickback, the chain brake trips and stops the saw chain immediate-
ly. The kickback brake will be activated by a forceful contact with
the front hand guard. This strike occurs when the machine is kicked
upwards, and the front hand pushes the hand guard.

Regularly check the function of the chain brake. To do this, fold the
hand guard forward (in direction OFF) and briefly switch on the
chain saw. The saw chain must not start. Pull back the front hand
guard (in direction ON) until it engages, in order to release the
chain brake.

Attention! Do not use the saw if the guards do not work properly. Do
not attempt to repair safety-related protective devices yourself but
contact our service or a similarly qualified workshop.

General Working Hints

▪
Before each work, check the condition of the chain saw, the level of
the oil tank, the tension and the condition of the saw chain as well
as the chain brake.
▪
Wear close-fitting protective clothing. When felling and forestry
work, be sure to wear a protective helmet with integrated hearing
and face protection. This provides protection against falling branch-
es and rebounding branches.
