5.4 Basic installation of the installation
equipment at the measurement location

In this section the basic set up of the installation equip-
ment on the nature of the measurement location will
be described. The installation equipment must be set
up depending on the inclination of the measurement
location.
5.4.1

Preparation

Before the beginning of the basic set up of the installa-
tion equipment, the following measures must be taken:
1. Check the tire pressure and if necessary correct.
2. Drive the vehicle to be tested onto the measurement
location so that the left vehicle side is in the middle
of the measurement location.

The vehicle must be as square as possible to the rail.

Is the deviation of the drive axis to the rail > 5°, is
the basic orientation not possible (with the installa-
tion equipment).
3. Check whether the ACC sensor has the necessary
distance to the mirror (120 cm ±5 cm).
5.4.2

Setting

For the basic orientation, the mirror must be set
vertically to the axis of the measurement location.

1. Set the installation equipment in the middle of the rail.
2. Pull the clamping lever on the hand grip.
 The clamp unit is opened.
3. Set the installation equipment with the opened clamp
unit on the rail.
4. Again release the clamping lever.
 The installation equipment is locked onto the rail.
5. Check whether the installation equipment is sitting on
the correct rail.

6. Check whether the mirror is set to the middle position
of the latching equipment (fig. 11, item1)!

7. Set the mirror using the vertical adjustment equip-
ment (fig. 11, item 2) to the value "1".
8. Fix the quick action clamp to the left rear wheel.
9. Place the axis of the wheel laser in the location of
the quick release clamp.
10. Make the wheel laser as much as possible horizontal
and fix with the fixing screw to the quick action clamp.
11. Press the quick action clamp towards the bottom, in
order to optimize the give in the location.
12. Switch on the wheel laser.
Never look directly at the laser source!
13. Fixing screw (fig. 12, Pos, 3) solve.

14. Adjust mirror until the laser beam falls back to the
perpendicular line of the projection surface of the
wheel laser.
15. Fix mirror with the fixing screw.
 The mirror is now horizontally aligned.
