7. Installation and setup with the aid of the magnet and adhesion kit
• Attach the battery to the connection clip
• Refit the smoke detector to the base, rotating it clockwise to lock it in position. Important: the safety

block is designed to stop the smoke detector being attached to the base without first being fitted with
a battery. Ensure that the battery is connected and inserted correctly. The magnet and adhesion kit is a
simple alternative for attaching the alarm to the ceiling without using the screws and rawlplugs supplied.
So smoke alarms may be installed quickly and cleanly with this kit.
Fitting
1. Attaching the ceiling element
Pull the protective film (a) off the adhesive surface and press the adhesive side firmly to the ceiling. Keep
pressing the ceiling element to the ceiling, especially on the edges, for at least 10 seconds (b). Make sure
that the surface of the ceiling is stable, dry and free from grease and dust. Once the ceiling element has been
stuck in place, it can no longer be removed or repositioned.
2. Attaching the alarm element
The alarm element (the one with the magnet) is to be stuck to the alarm's installation plate. Pull the protective
film off the adhesive surface and press the adhesive side to the attachment plate. Keep pressing the alarm
element to the attachment plate for at least 10 seconds (c), especially on the edges.
3. Attachment of the alarm to the ceiling
To ensure a secure grip, both the elements must be left without any load for at least 6 hours
so that the adhesive sticks properly. Then place the smoke alarm with the correctly attached
attachment plate and the magnetic element into the ceiling element (e). Here the retaining lugs of
the ceiling element must slot into the apertures on the alarm element (d). Now rotate the alarm in
a clockwise direction until it is evidently fitted in place (f).
