How to test the braking power:
Apply the rear brake and see if the rear
wheel locks up while you push the bike.
When you pull the front brake, the rear
wheel should lift off the ground because
the front wheel locks up.
In the meantime, you can also assess
whether the steering is loose or whether
components are making unusual noises.
Make sure that you install a lighting sys-
tem that complies with the legal require-
ments and that it works properly.
All components should be firmly at-
tached to the bike. Check the saddle,
handlebars and stem.

A point that is often underestimated is
tire pressure. This affects your riding safety,
but also the performance of the bike.
It is therefore worth checking the tires and
rims for damage, cracks, deformation or
objects that have pierced in (e.g. broken
glass).
