In the following, we will give you an
overview of the framework conditi-
ons currently prevailing in Europe.
However, we would like to point out that
there are many changes in the field of
electric bicycles in particular and that
you should keep yourself informed.
According to the definition of the Euro-
pean Union, the SUSHI BIKE is a pedelec.
This means that it can have pedal
assistance up to 25 km/h and the motor
must not exceed a continuous output of
250 watts.
Our motor is rated at 200 watts, so you're
on the safe side here. Because we meet
these criteria, our bikes are exempt from
Directive 2002/24/EC.
This means that we do not need a type
approval and you therefore do not need
an insurance number. We recommend
wearing a helmet at all times.
